Nigeria's healthcare problem is not only funding. It is fragmentation.

Nigeria spends significantly less on healthcare per capita than necessary, but the deeper crisis is structural — a fragmented system that cannot coordinate around the patient.

Funding healthcare is essential, but pouring resources into disconnected silos without interoperability leads to massive waste and poor clinical outcomes.

Currently, primary healthcare centers, tertiary teaching hospitals, private diagnostics, and state health insurance schemes operate on independent, incompatible systems.

Bridging this gap requires open standards, unified identity layers, and shared incentives across public and private providers.
